Rather than go with a do-all radio streaming program, Areaware Public Radio is meant to match the spirit of the Areaware Radio Dock. Turn on and tune in to whats around you. We highly recommend NPRs own excellent streaming application if youd like to choose stations outside your area.
If you are outside the U.S. or do not grant location permission, Public Radio will tune you into Areawares home - New York City stations.
The app is intentionally simple, offering few choices. We have chosen local public programming because of its mix of local, national, and international news, and because it is less influenced by commercial interests. We are currently working on an app for areas outside of the U.S.
Public Radio works best when used with a strong wifi connection.
